A pergola is a pretty sight, but is installing a pergol an enormous challenge? It’s exactly the thing JR Carpentry & Tile can do for you!
Unique and Beautiful
Dating back to the 17th century, the pergola is a striking outdoor statement piece that has been adapted for every culture. This was an Asian inspired design that was modified to fit the house. The pergola ran along the back of the house to welcome homeowners and guests before entering the backyard.
We constructed the pergola using clear cedar lumber. The main beam running the width of the structure was a 6″ x 12″ piece of lumber that ran the entire 28′ width of the structure.
The pergola has aesthetic and functional purposes. It stands as a unique part of this backyard’s design that isn’t likely found anywhere else in the neighborhood. As the sun streams through the rafters, it provides shade for dining and entertaining.
