Great work in Narberth!

Mother Nature can be unpredictable, and sometimes the elements can wreak havoc on your home. In times like this, JR Carpentry & Tile’s experience in exterior remodeling and roof repair can be a real lifesaver!

When the roof of this Narberth home was destroyed due to water damage, much more than a bit of patchwork was needed to repair it.

The entire roof and sheathing had to be torn off, and a new sub deck was constructed over the existing rafters. The new roof was laid with 30-year architectural shingles, and brand new, cedar support posts were installed.

Once the roof was in place, we had to tackle the rest of the deck area in order to tie in the new pieces with the existing structure. The edge of the dividing wall which separates the deck from the neighbor’s backyard was wrapped with cedar, and the dividing wall itself was clad with cedar-impression vinyl siding to create a uniform look throughout.

This vinyl siding had to meet a very specific criteria. Due to the expansion and contraction of the material when exposed to the elements, the siding had to be installed according to the temperature of the product. The pieces were attached to a temperature gauge, which allowed us to determine the expansion level of each portion of the dividing wall and helped in ensuring proper alignment. Once the pieces are aligned and installed, they will always remain uniform.
