Home Remodel in New Jersey - KitchenWow! Talk about a huge project!

A New Jersey family recently purchased a home and did not care for the existing decor and wanted to change it prior to moving in. They called JR Carpentry & Tile with a vision of a completely new look for their beloved new house.

The floor-to-ceiling plan was extensive, but we were more than up to the task!

We started out with the kitchen. It definitely lacked a certain “wow!” factor, so we wasted no time in sprucing it up.

Sparkling Kitchen

The kitchen was completely remodeled with cherry cabinets with a matte finish. We installed a built-in oven and microwave unit, as well as a built-in refrigerator.

As we constructed a brand new island, we incorporated a prep sink and elevated dishwasher, as well as a bread-kneading station and sitting area featuring butcher block countertops.

Along the back wall of the kitchen, we installed a commercial-style cooktop with a hood exhaust vent. The vent came equipped with a remote blower to cut down on noise in the kitchen.

Once all of the structures were completed, we added the finishing touches to the walls. The backsplash was constructed of quartzite granite with a white subway tile backsplash, and Turkish accent tiles over the cooktop. We finished off the room with a solid wood build-up and crown molding throughout.

There’s now doubt that some amazing meals will be cooked in this new kitchen!

Hardwood Floors

With the kitchen complete, it was time to move on to the floors.

The entire house was covered in carpet, which we completely removed. The foyer, hearth room, laundry room, entry from the garage, and kitchen were all fitted with 12”x 24” faux sandstone porcelain tile.

We installed floating laminate floor in the formal dining and living rooms, as well as the first floor spare bedroom. We moved the entry door for the bathroom into the spare room to give it its own “suite” feel.

The whole second floor loft also received brand new Berber carpet.

The family had no need for the second floor walk-in closet, so we converted it into a full bathroom, complete with a gorgeous shower stall!

Speaking of conversions, the second floor studded storage room was completely transformed into a finished bedroom with a double window unit! The room was completed with a laminate floating floor and walk-in closet.

After we had added a brand new glue-down oak hardwood floor in the master bedroom, we tackled the bathroom.

A Modern Bathroom

The master bathroom was completely remodeled to feature a curbless shower stall with a bench. Quilt-pattern 10″ x 30″ tile was also installed in the shower.

We added wainscot around the bathroom, and built two cabinets and a countertop space for extra storage.

The Small Touches

The whole house also received brand new 5.25″ baseboards, lighting fixtures, outlets, and switches.

When we said it was a floor-to-ceiling plan, we meant it! We completed the project by adding new sheet rock ceilings laminated over the existing ceiling structure to cover the texture that was there when the house was built.

If you walk into this New Jersey home new, you’ll think it was just built from the ground up!
