Completing A Sleek Apartment Lobby Makeover In Sea Isle

Property owners have started paying more attention to their lobbies. As far as interior style goes, apartment lobbies have been taking on a sleeker form: we’re seeing more mosaic details, accent pieces and wood being used to brighten the space up.

A beautiful lobby is welcoming for existing tenants and helps attract new ones. When the property owners of this apartment building in Sea Isle City, NJ wanted to completely revamp their lobby, they knew JR Carpentry & Tile could get the job done right! 

We sat down with the property owners with some suggestions for bringing new life to the space. To add that “wow” factor, we decided to update the existing flooring, walls, entry doors and mailboxes. We also decided on installing a new storage cabinet tree for official use and a new storage closet, making the most out of the lobby area. 

Before we could begin any installations, we had a lot of demolition to do. The glass door dividing the elevator lobby from the corridor to the boardwalk was taken down, making the hallway look bigger and brighter.  

It was time to move on to the walls. First, we demolished existing mailboxes and a wall that made the space feel too tight. We fixed the framing of a new wall, which created a nice divide between the mailboxes and the elevator area. Afterwards, we closed the walls, which was later covered in textured beige wallpaper. We also installed another wall for an additional mailbox system. The new mailboxes really updated the look of the lobby! A gorgeous wall tile that mimics marble was installed around the new mailboxes and baseboards of the entire space.

With the walls looking new, it was time to work on the floors. The entire carpet vinyl was starting to look worn and the epoxy floor coating by the elevators could also use a makeover. We demolished both floorings, replacing the entire area using 6 x 24″ faux wood tile. To make the floor even more eye-catching and save the owners money, we dashed in layers of the wall tile that was used around the new mailboxes and baseboards.   

Mosaic glass adds a hint of luxury to rooms and is trending right now. We wanted to include the material in the lobby, so we installed 1×1 mosaic glass tiles around the elevators. The lobby instantly looked much more elegant! 

Tenants want to feel safe coming into their apartment. Secure entry doors create a safer environment, so we installed new entry doors from the parking lot and maintenance corridor. 

A new storage cabinet tree was installed for official use to make the most out of the lobby space. We also installed a storage closet, which was framed with a beautiful glass panel door. 

For the final touch, 3D wave imprinted tiles were placed in panels along the walls. These accents gave the entire lobby a contemporary vibe.

The property owners are in love with their sleek new lobby. They can’t wait to see the reaction of the tenants when they see the revamped space!
